The headline number is the optics: a 90mm aperture with a 340mm focal length at a fast f/3.8. That's a real step up from the 50mm-class scopes (Seestar S30 Pro, DWARF 3, DWARF Mini) that have dominated this category for the last couple years โ€” more light-gathering, faster to reach usable exposure depth on faint targets.

The bigger deal, though, is what DWARFLAB built around that aperture. Draco has a built-in independent guide-scope sensor with real-time tracking correction, plus a physically rotating CMOS sensor (ยฑ90ยฐ, with field-rotation compensation) for "free-angle composition" โ€” meaning you can frame a shot without repositioning the whole telescope. Between the guiding and the rotation compensation, DWARFLAB says Draco can pull off single-frame exposures up to 300 seconds (5 minutes) without needing a separate guide scope or a fussy polar-aligned EQ setup โ€” something my S30 Pro and the DWARF Mini/3 simply can't do without a full EQ tripod rig.

It also runs active CMOS cooling, which reduces thermal noise and recycles that heat to keep the lens from dewing over on cold nights โ€” a nice bit of engineering that trades battery life for image quality.
